Excellent Mechanical Strength and Stiffness: With a tensile strength of 60 MPa and a flexural strength of 88 MPa (tested according to ISO standards), it provides robust structural load-bearing capacity for demanding application scenarios.
Outstanding Fatigue and Wear Resistance: Inherently high surface hardness and a low coefficient of friction, combined with low warp characteristics, allow the material to endure long-term dynamic stress and frictional wear, significantly extending component service life.
Good Chemical Resistance: It exhibits strong resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents, and various chemical reagents, making it adaptable to engineering applications in complex chemical environments.
Superb Dimensional Stability: Coupled with low water absorption and low warpage, it ensures that molded parts maintain tight dimensional tolerances across varying temperature and humidity conditions.
Excellent Processability: Specifically designed for injection molding and extrusion processes, its moderate melt flow rate (9 g/10min) delivers an optimal balance of flowability and mechanical integrity, making it especially suitable for rapid prototyping of thin-walled parts and complex geometries.
Broad Regulatory Compliance and Safety: Complies with multiple international safety and environmental regulations, including RoHS, REACH, FDA, NSF, and the UL 94 HB flammability rating, thereby reducing regulatory compliance costs for downstream clients.
1. Automotive Components In the automotive industry, YUNTIANHUA® M90 is extensively used to manufacture automotive electrical/electronic modules, under-the-hood components, exterior trims, fuel system components, bearings, drive gears, and wheels. Replacing traditional metals with POM for parts like gears, linkages, and sliders enables lightweighting while maintaining durability, effectively reducing total vehicle weight and eliminating metal corrosion issues.
2. Mechanical and Industrial Parts In industrial equipment, this material is heavily deployed in the production of bearings, valve components, gears, wheels, thin-walled mechanical parts, and pump components.
3. Electrical and Electronics (E&E) Leveraging its high dielectric insulation and dimensional stability, YUNTIANHUA® M90 is widely applied in the precision manufacturing of E&E parts, such as connector components, relay housings, and switch structural elements, ensuring long-term electrical safety and dimensional integrity during operation.
4. Consumer Goods and Home Appliances POM material also plays a vital role in the internal precision mechanisms of home appliances and consumer electronics. Typical applications include structural supports, sliding mechanisms, drive components, and thin-walled protective covers, satisfying both mechanical load requirements and stringent assembly/aesthetic tolerances.
1. Does YUNTIANHUA® M90 require drying before use? What are the recommended drying process parameters?
No, it does not. POM material has extremely low moisture absorption. Under normal storage and transportation conditions, it can be fed directly into the injection molding machine straight out of the bag without pre-drying. Drying is only required if the packaging is damaged, if the resin has been exposed to high-humidity air for an extended period, or if ambient temperature fluctuations cause surface condensation on the pellets. In the event of such moisture exposure, the recommended drying parameters are 80–90°C for 2–3 hours.
2. What are the key considerations for mold design when using YUNTIANHUA® M90?
Due to the high crystallinity of POM and its typical molding shrinkage rate of approximately 1.5–2.5%, the mold design must incorporate adequate shrinkage compensation. Furthermore, while YUNTIANHUA® M90 exhibits clean mold release properties, it is sensitive to stress concentration at sharp corners. It is highly recommended to design generous radii (fillets) at all sharp corners and transitions to mitigate residual stress and potential stress cracking risks.
3. Is YUNTIANHUA® M90 suitable for food contact or medical applications?
YUNTIANHUA® M90 complies with several international food contact safety standards, including FDA and NSF. However, prior to implementing it in medical devices or direct contact with specific food types (such as high-fat foods or alcoholic beverages), customers are advised to conduct application-specific testing and regulatory validation based on the end product’s operating environment.
